Im pregnant, but im scared my boss will fire me when she finds out.?

December 28, 2011 - 11:29 pm 6 Comments

Okay, Im 19 yrs old, 7weeks pregnant and I work as a receptionist at a realestate.

My boss is very strick and manipulative, she is always in the office in her backroom private office, everyday 9am -5pm expect mondays ( they are her days off ) She and her husband privately own the particular realestate I work for.

She is very controlling, more so than any other boss I have ever worked for. She has a T.V her private office that she shares with her husband and a camera out in the front of the realestate where I and the sales consultants work. And she has is on all the time listening into our conversations, even when she says that she only puts in on incase someone comes it. She will listen in on private conversations in the office and then ask personal questions to myself and other people in the office, regarding the conversations she was just listening in on. She also goes onto all the computers and looks up browsing history, any files we have on the computers and through our work emails. BUT she also has a program that allows her to access whatever passwords we type to get onto our private emails and facebook ect, ( which she has expressed she doesnt mind if we use them ) and she will go into our private emails and facebook and follow conversations on the chat. She also goes onto the main printer and does a history print up of EVERYTHING that anybody prints off. Which i find is a bit extreme. She will even go through our rubbish bins! She constantly asks everyone for information on other employees which I don’t appreciate in the slightest. She is also very tight with money for anything from adverts to go into the newspaper to updating realestate programs online.

She and her husband also smoke in their office, so I have been limiting myself from going in there to often, because she keep all the doors shut and they are very heavy smokers, but I still have to go in there at least 5 times a day.

She is a very VERY smart woman and is very controlling, so I know that when I tell her I’m pregnant she won’t fire me on the spot, but she will nit pick on everything I do, that wont have bothered her in the past and I’m scared I will eventually be let go.

My partner has a full time job, but I am only on 3days a week, and I’m scared at how much we will struggle if i do get let go.

My mother who used to work as a sales consultant in the same realestate office was once asked if I was pregnant, and when she respond no, my boss said, ‘ good, because I wont have anyone who is pregnant working here’. (this was a good 6mnths ago. ) Ive only been working here since early Feb this year. My mum got so fed up with their behavour that she left last month and they still havnt paid her for a fortnight of work, annual leave or her sick pay. So I’m scared that I wont get any paid maternity leave, and also if they fire me I wont be able to claim paid maternity leave from the government, and my partner wont be able to support myself, our baby and everything on just his pay alone.

My mum says that as soon as my boss finds out, I will be on borrowed time.

Please I don’t know what to do!

Of course you know what to do. You need to find another job.

If the job is as miserable and unpleasant as you have described, it stands to reason that you would want another position any way. If you have a reason to believe your boss is going to start laying the foundation to fire you once she learns you are pregnant you have an even bigger motivation to find a new job.

Realestate? Would I be eligible?

I am 20, turning 21 in february. Right now I live with my grandmother but I need to move out and they have given me a less than a month to look for a place. I live in Sydney and the dilemma is I dont have a rent record and I’m a full time student and I get $400 fortnightly. I am looking around for a two bedroom apartment in the price range of 380 per week ( I will be splitting the bills with a friend who is moving in). I know that the fact that i get 400 fornightly will appear like I would not be able to pay but the thing is I already got $6000 saved up in my bank account. That is enough for four/ five months. My friend is also a student. Do you think they wont consider me because i get 400 fornightly? or would the fact that i got $6000 saved up help?

You can only afford 67 a week, not more then you actually earn. If you and friend both get 400 a fortnight you can manage twice that.

No one will rent to you when you do not even have enough coming in to pay rent. Since you also have other bills you should not spend more then 35% of your income on rent. You still have to eat, shower, have lights,. etc.

how do my partner and my young family get a rental property easier?

My fiance, myself and our 11 month old son have been looking for a rental property for 1/1-2years now ever since we moved out of the previous property, we are now residating with my fiance parents where our son shares a bedroom with my fiance and i,

my fiance has bad rental history due to the previous address which i wasnt on the lease, our house mates were on the lease, they ended up not paying rent and moved out we couldnt afford the renton our own so we ended up with a debt of $850.00 my fiance ended up repaying the debt on his own should that look good on his behalf??
when we moved out of the property the realestate said the house was in worst condition when we moved out then what it was before we moved in which it wasnt we had to clean the premises wen we moved in and it already had mould grown in the walls!now the realestate are telling all the other realestates that he was a bad tenant, so we get declined.

our price range is $100-$300, we earn $1,884 between us per fortnight
our grocceries cost $200-$250, baby stuff $100, petrol $150, electricity $20, storage shed $30, current rent $250 thats all per fortnight! can we afford $300per week??

we have 2 weeks to find a house will we get a chance? rental markets are off the roof due to miners and people with more money then us.

due to miners?

huh?

easier than what?

call a RE firm that handles rentals

where can i look for cheap housing ?

ok, so my boyfriend and i have broken up. Now i have to find i new house to live. i am unable to come up with a share house as a solution, and i’ve been mainly looking on realestate.com.au which have 2 bedrooms apartments but still not affordable enough. i’,m located in south brisbane and am looking for 1 bedroom/bathroom set up that i can afford!!!! any sites that can make this happen?

look in the newspaper. renting? look for basement apts (cheap and easy). the price decreases as you move farther away from the center of the city/near the city. try the suburbs- new construction is always expensive and landlords who make renovations expect you to pay a ton of more money so be careful.

How would YOU renovate this small unit/bedsit to give the impression of more space? 18m square (Pic provided).?

I’ve just bought this 18sq m (2 squares) bedsit. It’s basically a broom cupboard, but the location is awesome!

It has it’s own tiny bathroom, which currently has non-opaque glass surrounding, I think i’ll put in a clear glass screen.

I’ve got a bit of money to renovate with, so far tips I’ve gleaned from the internets are:

Light colours, pastel colours, soft colours, cool colours (blues and greens)

Vertical stripes if any

High up features/borders to draw the eye upwards

Mirrors (non fogging, to avoid that ‘closed-in’ feeling

Keep furniture out of walkways

If you can see the floor, the room will look larger

Co-ordinate wall and furniture colours

Well lit: Maybe track lighting aimed up walls, or recessed lighting

Use see-through materials as things behind will seem further off

Glass tabletops

Reflective surfaces

A few large, simple pieces of furniture rather than lots of small cluttered ones

Plain Upholostry

Install lights in cupboards

Use full spectrum light bulbs

I was thinking of making the whole roof a mirror… would that be awful?….

Any advice and tips appreciated :)

You found good ideas. Did you check out HGTV, they have a show called Small Space, Big Style. It shows what other people have done with their space. It also has commentators, that give the tips and why. Good luck.

Scam or not? Need opinions asap!?

She can’t fire you. That’s discrimination. You can sue her for that.
You can get more than maternity leave once you sue and win.

I was looking in the New papers today and i seen several 4 to 5 unit complex for sale all almost a million $$$$$$$ what can i do to get started. I’m Also writing a litter to my appartment owner to see how he got started and if he can give me advice.

You need to convince the bank that they aren’t going to lose their money. In other words, whats your business plan, experience, money down, etc. You can’t just say give me a million dollars and they will happily hand it to you.

Looking to Move to Nice City?

April 3, 2011 - 5:46 am 3 Comments

Im looking to Move- City Ideas?!
Wishlist:
Medium Sized- 210k-310k Population.
Modern City (Not Historical or Anything, Lots of New)
Lots of Stuff to Do for Adults and Teenagers.
Nice People (Not Full of Gangs and Crime)
Close to Big Cities (550k or More in Population)
Near Nice Beach (At Least Within 1-3 Hour Driving Distance)
Somewhat Cheap Realestate

Just Looking for Nice Place to Live, That Would Be my Dream City…

Shoot Me Up Some Cities

no city of that size is "new" and WILL have crime problems and will NOT have cheap real estate

you’re dreaming all right

why would you expect 2 cities of that size to be close to each other? – how close is close? 50 miles? 200 miles?

Perhaps the issue of Aged care home demanding more than clients can afford and Centrelink assessments #1 elect?

Folks live within their means.

The last week saw Julia Gillard threatening to assess the assets of the elderly for loot to be plundered like a vampire pirate sucking the life blood outta the economy.

What serious value can be created by stealing from the average to give to wealthy crooks?

Her soft on crime approach where crooks who run some NB not all nursing homes means abuse of the elderly is continuing in conjuction with the greens to make Poll Pott look like a rank amateur?

How can a healthy economy use a death tax by stealth to steal from the have nots to give an abundance of junket health department glory tours of overseas and fire sales of health department land assets where the very people sworn to be protected and defended as a parliamentarian is nothing more than an inconvenience of elderly and the mass glorification of more sin, even though she lives in it?

Greed Graft and look how Great I am the true fancy of pretty pretty fashions redocrating the lodge whilst the unemployed outta town a way starve, Australia has unaffordable realestate, is it any wonder with bad leadership that assets get plundered because investment is foreign and spending rampardt amongst poor purchases and mates rates for fire sales?

Its beyond me how we can even trust the Department of Trust and Guardianship when they racked up the average fee annually every month to try to steal the home by stealth after assessing a carer because living in a home despite spending most of the time there means the family home gets included as an asset surely three and a half years as a carer means that the family home doesnt get seized most particularly if the carer lives there one month prior to the person going into aged care?

What disturbs me most is the hostile attitude that the elderly and carers should exist like its so much loot they are entitled to steal and blame the transference for the government politcal machinations onto the survivors on battle street.

In the year 2007 there was a 20% spike in the number of dementia related increases proportionate to the sensitivity of a 20% spike in wrongful diagnosis of aged folks reacting badly to pain killers high as a kite many doctors are liable for sueing for wrongful diagnosis, many victims now lay dead as working families cry for grief, thank you Julia???

How Could Julia Gillard’s economic mismanagment of aged finances cost the NSW Premier Christina Keneally her job when she is cleaning up all the rotting politicians retiring?
Surely Aged care carers deserve a better deal by creating value whether living there or NOT to protect the family home from being seized as an asset? 3 1/2 years as a carer six times saving the caree life, five outta six abussive aged care homes, where is any justice?

My word I had no idea it was that bad. This is an evil idea and the woman must be drunk to think it would work.
